Why we exist

Small and medium-sized enterprises often feel financial pressure before they have language for it. Payroll lands, a large customer stretches terms, and the management meeting becomes a guessing game. DataSource Business Advisory was formed to sit beside directors in those moments — not to replace a bookkeeper or accountant, but to bring planning discipline to the weeks that matter.

Origin

The practice grew out of years spent inside owner-managed firms where the finance function was one person, a part-time bookkeeper, and a pile of unread reports. We saw that budgets written once a year and ignored by March, cash surprises that could have been spotted six weeks earlier, and controls that never kept pace with headcount. The work we do now is a direct response to those patterns.

How we approach clients

We start with the trading reality: seasonality, customer concentration, supplier power, and how decisions actually get made. Frameworks come second. Sessions are conversational; deliverables are short enough to use in a Monday meeting. When a recommendation would cost more in staff time than it saves in risk, we say so.
